Okay so, this is a series I've been so excited to write! I work behind a bar, so anything cocktail or drink recipe related, I'm here for. I decided to make my first one a Hugo. This is one of my favourite cocktails because it involves Gin and Prosecco which I love. We first tried this cocktail on holiday to Sorrento in Italy where the bar we went to made them really really strong. After the first one, I could definitely tell I'd drunk it! I've invented my own easy version you can make at home. There are a few different variations of this recipe and it depends what I have at home to which one I make. I'm going to show you the best one and then list all the variations at the end of this blog post.

Ingredients
- 50ml Gin (2 shots)
- A bottle of sparkling wine (Prosecco is best but I used Lambrini in the photo because it was cheaper)
- Ice
- Lemonade
- Mint (to garnish)
- Elderflower cordial
Method:
- First add ice to a glass. I used a Gin glass but you can use any glass really.
- I then added the Gin. I used the Elderflower flavour 'Edinburgh gin' to make it extra elderflower-y.
- You then add 25ml (1 shot) of elderflower cordial to the glass.
- Next, add as much sparkling wine as you like, the more you put in, the less lemonade will fit so it depends how strong you like your cocktails (haha).
- Finally, top with lemonade and garnish with mint leaves.
Alternative Ingredients
1. This one works if you don't like as much elderflower in you drinks.
- Edinburgh elderflower gin
- Sparkling wine
- Lemonade
2. This is good if you like your drinks not as sweet
- Regular gin
- Elderflower cordial
- Sparkling wine
- Soda water
3. Good for if you fancy a different flavour
- Any other flavoured gin, e.g. Rasberry gin
- Sparkling wine
- Soda or lemonade
4. The last one if you're a fan of pink
- Pink Gin
- Elderflower cordial
- Rosé prosecco
- Lemonade or Soda water

Hope you all enjoy this recipe as much as I do! I definitely want to make this into a series with all the different cocktails I make at home which are really simple to make! Please let me know if there is anything specific you want me to have a go at and maybe simplify or something so you can make them at home!
Cheers, Eva x
